Sending through the message box #
There are a couple of different ways you can connect with another user on your site. You can send direct messages to individuals or groups of users through the message box located in the upper right-hand corner of the screen next to your profile picture and username.
Opening this box will take you to the message screen where you get a quick glimpse of your most recent messages. You also have an inbox link that you need to open to send a message.
Once you open the inbox you’ll see two an inbox icon on the upper left side of the page(circled), and a message entry box at the bottom of the page (circled). Use either to send your 1st message.
You can send it to just one person, or do a search by name to send to a couple of members of your group.
Sending through group portal #
You can also send a message directly to other members of your group through your group portal. Go to your group’s page, which can be found in your drop down menu under your username in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
It can also be found in the left hand side bar.
When you get to the page open the particular group that contains the user(s) that you want to send a private message to by clicking on the name of the group.
This will open the group. Go to the send message link.
You can select to send a private message to an individual, or to the group.
