This interactive worksheet goes with Mission 1 of NOVA’s Evolution Lab ‘Build A Tree’ game. Students watch the ‘Evolution 101’ video, then play levels like ‘Training Trees’ and ‘Red, Green, and Gecko,’ answering questions as they go. They learn how scientists use shared traits to show how species are related and how natural selection works.
How to Use This Resource #
1. Have students sign in to PBS LearningMedia so their answers save.
2. Let students play each game level, then answer the questions for that level before moving on.
3. Wrap up by having students draw a mini tree of life for animals they know.
