[Grades: 9-12] Students build a timeline of one species and connect its rise or fall to human activity. #
In this lesson, students gather, organize, and interpret data to create a timeline for a species they choose. They connect human activities to changes in that species’ population and compare solutions for reducing human impact on biodiversity. It works well as a research project with a visual, art-friendly final product.
How to Use This Resource #
1. Let each student or pair pick a species, ideally one from California.
2. Have students design their timeline as a poster, slideshow, or illustrated scroll.
3. Host a gallery walk where students share one human impact and one solution.
